Shh! Teesdale - England's best kept secret!

Known originally as 'The Sportsman’s Rest' in the early 1800s, it's easy to imagine how weary folk found peace and sustenance in this spectacular spot, with its incredible position nestling beneath the wild open fells.

A small friendly country Inn, Langdon Beck Hotel  offers a warm welcome to all those who cross our threshold and pause to sit awhile either contemplating our wonderful views or relaxing around roaring fires in the cosy bars. 

 

With a selection of Real Ales  - as recommended in the 2007 & 2008 Good Beer Guides Langdon Beck Hotel offers two traditional bars, complimented by our spacious lounge areas plus a garden in which to    relax on fine days, revelling in the sheer peace and tranquillity of the area.   

All of this can be enjoyed throughout the week as we are open all day every day – Winter hours (Nov-May)closed Mondays. Why not come along and enjoy a spot of lunch, served Mon – Sat 12-2pm or 12-2.30pm on Sunday. We serve a traditional Sunday lunch, with Teesdale beef and homemade Yorkshire puddings on the menu every Sunday! Evening meals are served every evening between 7-9pm why not try a tasty Teesdale steak, or maybe one of our homemade pies.

 

Visitors are so enchanted with Upper Teesdale, they often stay and take advantage of our 'Inn-style' accommodation.  With stunning views, our centrally heated bedrooms offer a welcome respite.  An opportunity to recharge your batteries before another fun filled day in Teesdale!
